The Mission Statement of the Lincoln Squadron is:

When are cadet drills?

We normally drill one weekend each month, from 8:00am until 4:00pm each day. Some drills may be planned as a lock-in weekend starting on Friday evening with cadets staying onboard until Sunday afternoon. These drills will be clearly marked on appropriate issues of the Plan Of The Month as necessary.

What types of training are provided for Sea Cadets?

Qualified USNSCC officers, instructors or military personnel conduct training for Sea Cadets locally, or away from the local site. USNSCC training is authorized on board the ships and shore activities of the Navy and Coast Guard.

A cadet's individual training is based on three levels of course study beginning with study of the Navy Basic Military Requirements (BMR) Course. Upon satisfactory completion of the BMR and the two-week recruit training "boot camp", advanced training in areas of individual interest is available such as Airman (naval aviation), Construction, Fireman, Hospitalman, Musician, and SEAL. Finally, leadership courses are available at the most advanced level study.

Cadet recruits attend a two-week recruit-training program ("boot camp") at Navy/Coast Guard training centers. Cadets must have been enrolled in the USNSCC a minimum of six weeks prior to the start of their assigned "boot camp". They must also have completed a portion of the BMR and have all required uniforms.

What types of training are provided for League Cadets?

Navy League Cadets are involved in a variety of activities including classroom and hands-on training. They may take field trips to military bases, Navy and Coast Guard ships, and other places of interest. The majority of training is conducted at our local training site at the Naval Reserve Center,  Lincoln, Nebraska.

During the summer, cadets attend a one week training "boot camp" where they learn basic seamanship skills including knot tying, first aid, fire fighting, and water safety.
